Delano, MN – It was a great night of fun, food, and drinks for a great cause! Hundreds of people filled the streets of Delano, MN on September 8, 2018, for Band Blitz II, the second annual fundraising event for GreenCare for Troops and the Delano American Legion.

The weather was perfect and the night was filled with live entertainment as hundreds of people turned out to attend the event. Our VP of Franchising/Co-Founder, Nathan Newlands and Ben Luebbert, lucky grand prize winner and Spring Touch customer, both attended the event. Dick Jonckowski emceed the ceremonies with live music by the Delano River Band and Little Chicago headlining the event. Cindy Code & Ki Matsko from Project Evergreen, also flew in to attend the event.

Our Co-founder, Nathan Newlands, enjoyed getting to meet other volunteers and companies from around Minnesota and surrounding areas.

"It's great coming together for one purpose, helping military families. As a Veteran of the Royal Australian Air Force, I know firsthand just how much these organizations can help military families," said Nathan.

We appreciate that Project Evergreen has formed a charity that takes our services that we provide every day to customers and has given us a platform to be able to easily give back. Over the last several years we have enjoyed volunteering and working with Project Evergreen staff because of how easy they make volunteering. "It was an honor to spend the night fundraising for not only a great organization, but for military families across the country," said Newlands.

"As a brand, one of our core values is to 'Be the change.' By requiring our franchisees to volunteer with Project Evergreen, we are able to help provide lawn care and snow plowing services for actively deployed family members. That's part of what we love about our business! We love that we can pull together our resources and help be the change in people's lives. It may be as simple as a lawn care or snow plow service, but if we can help them, even in a small way, it's worth it!" – Nathan Newlands

After a successful night of fundraising, proceeds from Band Blitz II went to support Project Evergreen's GreenCare for Troops, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the Delano American Legion. To top off the night, The Toro Company also donated several thousands of dollars worth of lawn care equipment, which was raffled off to raise money for the event.

"We hope that this event inspires other companies to join with Project Evergreen and to realize the impact it can have on actively deployed military families," said Newlands. Special thanks to sponsors NuFarm, The Toro Company, and SiteOne Landscape Supply.
